A Humble Start

Hello there! I am Joshua, Co-founder and Sales Director of PropertyHub. Thank you for taking the precious time to read about us.
PropertyHub was founded by Ian and I back in 2014. Our goal was simple back then – to get more sellers and sell more houses.
Before PropertyHub was created, we had to advertise in newspapers to attract buyers for our sellers. It was relatively inefficient as we could not reach a wide range of clients.
So, to get more buyers and a better price for sellers, we moved away from the conventional method to online portals and website advertising.

The Need for a Different Marketing Method

Results were fantastic till about 2017, when we noticed a problem with online portals. Only Singaporeans who want to buy a house are using online portals. We call this an “impending occurrence” in the ecosystem.
We were thinking hard about how we could capture these alternative groups of buyers to increase the yield for our sellers.
  • Foreigners who are interested in owning a place in Singapore
  • Buyers who are not actively searching for a place but waiting for the “right property to appear.”
  • Buyers who do not search by themselves, e.g. High-net worth individuals.
In early 2018, we started collaborating with developers and agencies from regional countries; the result was a huge influx of foreign buyers streaming in to buy our properties. One agent commented, “WAHHH, this is like people queuing with excitement to enter Jay Chou’s concert.”

Our painstakingly acquired buyers and partners throughout the years have helped many of our sellers score record-breaking prices.
One particular incident was a seller who commented, “Where does your buyer come from? Why are you able to sell my house for high price within 1 week? I have tried many agents and all of them said that their buyers do not want to say low floor.”
Let me explain. The buyer is Vietnamese. Most Vietnamese prefer lower floor; thus the magic.
Recently, we have also open multiple channels to fetch buyers from outside the ecosystem. Constant mailer system, PR reporter, and social media geographical targeting system.
